Answers in Genesis Conference - Philadelphia

Sunday, June 6th through Tuesday, June 8th Answers in Genesis will be holding a FREE conference at Calvary Chapel Philly.

The conference will be featuring Ken Ham, who I was able to meet with last week when I was in Cincinnati with Karen.

Ken, along with Dr. David Menton will be speaking on a wide degree of topics to all different age groups.

I would highly encourage you, if you can make it down there for even part of the conference, do so. Ken does a great job at presenting a Biblically based creation worldview and does so unashamedly.

A startling revelation of what seems to be a huge government cut in the budget.

Most Christians are truly ignorant of the spiritual nature of the economic ramifications of government taking care of (and having to pay for) every area of our lives. This is not what our founding father’s intended knowing it would lead us back into bondage.

So much of government would not be needed if we got back to self-government and that will only come as a result of a revival of the Christian Faith. Otherwise, we will continue to look to the government to provide much of what should have been reserved for God and the church. This goes far beyond the typical Republican/Democratic moral issues.

Visit to the Creation Museum

I wanted to post this link from the Answer’s in Genesis blog (click on the title above).

Karen and I were blessed to visit the Creation Museum in Cincinnati yesterday and meet with Ken Ham, the president and founder of Answer’s in Genesis and the Creation Museum. What a blessing to see a biblically founded museum that rests on the Bible for it’s basis of truth.

Answer’s in Genesis is hosting a conference at Calvary Chapel Philadelphia June 6th and 7th. I would highly recommend you to consider attending to get a solid understanding of just how relevant the Bible still is for our understanding of science, regardless of our culture would tell us.

Earlier this month I was able to interview Joel Rosenberg who will be speaking at the upcoming Epicenter Conference in June.

Joel is a New-York Times best-selling author, speaker, and a profoundly committed brother in Christ. On June 25th and 26th, 2010 Mr. Rosenberg will be speaking at the Epicenter Conference 2010 where he and other well known speakers will bring understanding to today’s global crises in the light of Bible prophecy and give you practical ways to bless Israel and her neighbors in the name of Jesus, come what may.

I’m posting the audio file here in case you missed the listing on the CCOB webpage.

Enjoy!

Here is the video that Pastor Lloyd shared with the body this last weekend.

God’s Standard of Justice is not Relative

God’s Standard of Justice is not Relative
by Pastor Lloyd Pulley
(published in the Home News Tribune, March 31, 2010)

What is it about law and justice that captivates us? Why are programs like “Law and Order” and “CSI:” (and their offshoots) so popular?  Do we have an inherent need to see bad guys punished and good guys win?  For every crime committed, we demand justice.  Someone simply must pay or else the universe seems senseless.

Soul of Jesus, sick to death !
Thy Blood and prayer together plead ;
My sins have bowed Thee to the ground,
As the storm bows the feeble reed.

Midnight and still the oppressive load
Upon Thy tortured Heart doth lie ;
Still the abhorred procession winds
Before Thy spirit’s quailing eye.

Deep waters have come in, Lord !
All darkly on Thy Human Soul ;
And clouds of supernatural gloom
Around Thee are allowed to roll.

The weight of the eternal wrath
Drives over Thee with pressure dread ;
And, forced upon the olive roots,
In deathlike sadness droops Thy Head.

Thy spirit weighs the sins of men ;
Thy science fathoms all their guilt ;
Thou sickenest heavily at Thy Heart,
And the pores open, Blood is spilt.

And Thou hast struggled with it, Lord I
Even to the limit of Thy strength,
While hours, whose minutes were as years,
Slowly fulfilled their weary length.

And Thou hast shuddered at each act,
And shrunk with an astonished fear,
As if Thou couldst not bear to see
The loathsomeness of sin so near.

Sin and the Father’s Anger ! they
Have made Thy lower nature faint ;
All save the love within Thy Heart,
Seemed for the moment to be spent.

I shared this poem on Sunday Morning. I pray that you will consider these few lines and how they describe the agony of Jesus in the final days before his crucifixion.
